Life of Albert Einstein
Throughout this entire magazine issue, we have been touching on topics that relate to the theories of special and general relativity. These are popular topics as is but what is more popular than the theories, is the creator of the theories: Albert Einstein. The man is synonymous with intelligence and has a ton of quotes that he never actually said. Much is said about his accomplishments but little is spoken about his strange personal life that includes him marrying his first cousin. But first let’s go back to where Einstein started, back in Germany, Einstein was born on Pi Day 1879 to Jewish parents in the newly formed Germany.
He was born to Secular Jewish parents and expectedly had a great interest in mathematics and physics. In fact, in middle school, he had figured out a brand new way to prove the Pythagorean Theorem. Throughout his youth, he was gifted in mathematics and took the equivalent of differential and integral calculus in middle school. So he is a really smart guy. But let's move on to his adult life. As a student, he was sort of a slacker. He missed class... to learn physics. Major nerd alert! Einstein must have not been so smart as he asked his teacher for a recommendation letter. He ended up getting rejected to the position he had applied for. It's quite unfortunate as he may have been able to publish his revolutionary theories of general and special relativity earlier if he had help from a major institution much earlier on. Fortunately he got back on his feet and found employment at another establishment that barely supported him so that he could make waves with his brand new revolutionary theory: The Theory of General Relativity.
