Alpha Centauri

The human race needs to spread across the universe, or at least the galaxy. But the universe is vast. Though the distance may be a challenge, new technology, and theoretical wormholes may allow humanity to survive. And humanity’s first stop may be Alpha Centauri, our nearest neighbor. The Centauri System includes 3 different stars that influence each other gravitationally. There is Alpha Centauri A and B and then there is Proxima Centauri, which has garnered a lot of attention due to its planets and the fact that it is the closest star system to ours. It has been discovered that there is an Earth-like planet in the habitable zone of Proxima Centauri. It has been dubbed Proxima Centauri b, a very creative name if I do say so myself. With its location and proximity to Earth, it makes a great candidate for exploration and future colonization. Due to the limitations of our current observational technology, it might take some time to fully survey the entire planet. But a fully habitable planet only a couple of light years away is a great start to humanity's expansion into the cosmos.
