About The Hubble Space Telescope
The Hubble telescope was launched on April 20th, 1990 by NASA. Named after the famous physicist Edwin Hubble, it has taken numerous photos and broadened our knowledge of the universe. The Hubble Telescope is in low-Earth orbit, around the same elevation as the International Space Station. The Hubble Telescope has contributed greatly to the field of cosmology. The Hubble Telescope has allowed scientists to find the age of the universe, the rate of expansion of the universe, the existence of black holes, and many more. It has had such a huge impact on science that over 15,000 peer-reviewed articles and research papers were written on its findings.
Additionally of the top 200 astronomy papers written each year 10% of them are based on data collected by the Hubble Telescope. Moreover, the Hubble Telescope has affected the field of aerospace engineering. It allowed engineers to learn more about how large objects would fare in low earth orbit. It gave aerospace engineers information on how low-earth objects would deal with radiation and other challenges that equipment would deal with in space.
