What is Cosmology?
Spearheaded by Albert Einstein, cosmology is the study of the universe's evolution. This includes its birth, its present state, and the possible ways that the universe will end.
One of the most vital and important events in cosmology is the big bang. if you didn't know, the big bang is an event that birthed the universe. Prior to the big bang the universe was an infinitely dense object which the entire universe originates from.
The French have a word for an event so important that there is a time before and after the event. It shocks the world and changes the timeline of history. It's called a cèsar. The big bang was a cèsar, there's a time, if you could call it a time, and then there's a time after the big bang.
Immediately after the big bang all of the matter in the universe was created and subsequently destroyed by the antimatter that was created with it. This resulted in the small surplus of matter that was created forming the basis of the universe today.
This picture may seem good enough for most but there are many holes that need to be filled. What happened before the big bang, what happened during the big bang, and what will the big bang happen again? All of these questions form the basis of the field that we call cosmology.
